Witty writing and stunning art depict a teen heroine with a stellar outfit and caring parents. Kamala's life-family, homework, faith-becomes complicated as the result of her superhero activities. Keeping a curfew is tough when you're out fighting crime. Rich character development sets this work apart and offers a slice of seriousness even when Kamala's getting herself in trouble by trying to stop trouble. Kamala will remind readers of someone they know, even if they don't save lives on the side.
